SHERBET IMAGE

Press Pic 2

Sherbet Image produce original music written by myself and my son. It’s contemporary jazz/ jazz fusion in style, with progressive rock and pop influences also. We have a new album due on February 16th, 2024, titled “Escalante”. You can follow one of the links below, or go to your favourite streaming site to hear our music. Here’s some of our most recent press-release.

THE GOAL OF SHERBET IMAGE
Sherbet Image aim to “Evoke and Explore”: to learn from the lofty examples of jazz giants, to create ambience evoking images of places and experiences, and to strike out and create new things. At the heart of this goal is the desire to please fans and listeners. With this in mind Sherbet Image have prepared a new and exciting set of recordings, culminating in a new album due for release on February 16th of 2024.

THE MUSICIANS

Nathan, whose main role is trumpet-player, all-around front man and wower, has been inspired by greats such as Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Freddie Hubbard, Wynton Marsalis, and more recently, Till Bronner. Sax legend John Coltrane also features greatly in Nathan’s style. Nathan is currently studying jazz performance as a graduate at UNT, Denton, Texas, where he’s at the centre of sound in the top jazz band.

Nick is a veteran of several musical styles. His biggest influences from the world of jazz have been Stanley Clarke, Ron Carter, Eddie Gomez and Jaco Pastorius, and from the world of progressive rock, Ray Schulman of Gentle Giant and Yes’s Chris Squire.

THE WORKING BAND
Locally in central Washington Sherbet Image are known for their improvisational drive, worked around jazz standards in a contemporary way, and around their own compositions.

NICK FISHER

I produced a solo album of all-original electronica, which you can hear or download on many streaming sites. It’s titled “Hand-Prints of Forgotten Souls”, by Nick Fisher. Here’s a link, which should take you to the music on Spotify:

CILIUM

Try two samples of some electronic music I recorded a few years ago under the name “Cilium”. They’re from an Ep CD called “Cave”.  The EP is currently only available through me, but might be added to streaming services later this year. Turn up the bass and click on the links (no advertising or strings attached)

CRAZY ASTRONAUT DANCE

My last link is to a piece of techno/trance music I created several years ago, called “Crazy Astronaut Dance”-some time, in fact, before someone decided to call themselves “Crazy Astronaut”. It’s set to a rather amateur video I made at the time. I hope you like it.

  1. Nick, I got a haircut the other day by this friendly blonde girl, got talking about music, told her I play guitar/bass, and that I write a lot of original instrumental music, mostly of the funk/smooth jazz variety. She told me to check your website, and that you’d be a cool guy to jam with. I too am a follower of Christ, and play guitar/bass at a church here in Moses Lake. Anyhow, a friend of mine is a good drummer, and all we need is a bassist, in the hope of playing coffeshop type gigs in the near future. Call me if you’d be interested….(509) 387-6499.
