We’re all familiar with reports of war from Ukraine and Gaza. War between nations and people groups is as old as human nature, unfortunately. This is the most visible form of war, but not the only one, by far. If you’re a professing Christian, you should be aware that you are in a war, every day. If you aren’t a professing Christian, you may feel like you’re in a war of some sort, but you may have no idea why.
Our government and the god it serves is at war with itself and with its own people. Behind government is a greater evil power guiding it.
Our entertainment and so-called “news” media is at war with us and with our culture. In rooms where we cannot see, people plot how to shape the culture, and so shape the nation and the world.
On our roads, our egos are at war with common sense and rationality: people literally racing through town in order to appear to be better than each other. It’s the age-old search for significance, working its way out in traffic, and ramping up the casualties literally by tens of thousands every year.
In our science labs and lecture halls so-called “experts” are at war with our faith in God, our sense of truth and right and wrong, our destiny and our origins, intentionally and actively blocking any and all mention of design, and instead pushing an unproven theory of nothingness into the minds of millions.
In our homes selfish desires and proclivities war against our own lives, and against that of our families. Human nature and its will is as corrupt and destructive as anything on earth, even in the home.
In our minds war tears us away from truth, logic and peace. Our fallen nature, along with the world we cannot see-yes, the spirit world-seeks our destruction, twisting our thoughts, our dreams, our perceptions and our beliefs.
Be aware of the battle. Prepare for it, with the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. And fight it, to your last breath.
