Has Trump Destroyed the Push for World Government?

Some popular commentators are viewing Donald Trump’s latest actions as the death-knell for the movement towards any form of world government. Should we conclude that the dispensational evangelical view of “the New World Order” taking us all towards the times of Revelation is now conclusively proven to be wrong?

I confess freely to being one of those overjoyed about the election of Donald Trump. I’ve followed his exploits for the past ten years (it’s hard to believe it’s been that long) since he first announced he was running for office. The following years have been a real eye-opener for me and for many, as to the real character of government, of politics, and of human nature. No longer is it difficult to imagine spiritual battles and demonic powers at work in the most influential and consequential positions of power around the world. The bullet which missed Trump’s head was, as far as I’m concerned, redirected by the will of God. who had other plans for Trump. Perhaps those plans involve giving us all one last chance to change our ways. Or perhaps it’s just a case of postponing the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy until the time is right.

We might, if we wished, see the election of Trump as evidence that the Day of the Lord is still a long way off. For decades self-proclaimed experts have been telling us we were entering a New World Order which would see the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy and usher in the coming of the Beast, the man who would rule the world at the behest of the devil himself. They’ve been saying that world government, as foretold in Revelation, was in process.

Is globalism dead? Is world government now cancelled, with the election of Trump and of others around the world, such as Georgia Meloni, prime minister of Italy? A political commentator I listen to regularly is one of those convinced that it is. Dr. Steve Turley, a Christian who seems to not be on board with common evangelical eschatology, insists that the whole world is undergoing a cultural shift away from globalist designs and towards more traditional nationality, populism and religion. Steve recently produced a video titled, “WEF Admits Defeat as Maga Conquers the World”.

Europa being abducted by Zeus, disguised as a bull. A statue which was (is it still?) outside the EU Council building.

The World Economic Forum is an entity consisting of many world leaders, super-rich and super-influential people in politics, entertainment, finance and social engineering, who’ve been working above, through and in spite of elected bodies, to guide the world into their way of thinking. Turley explains that their way of thinking is fundamentally godless and woke. They’ve been pushing what’s called “stakeholder capitalism”, in which corporations, governments and NGO’s support and enforce their agenda of social justice, internationalism and extreme environmentalism. They plan a cashless society surveillance of the people, and total control of what we eat, think and do.

The WEF wants a massive redistribution of wealth, as long as it isn’t their wealth of course. Most of that redistribution is to go from West to South and East: from your hard work to other nations, without your say-so. They wish to see a mingling of the masses, and they wish to control those masses in order to “save the planet” from what they insist is man-made climate change, and from wars and conflicts caused by religion and conflicting ideologies. The result is what we see across the West now, where borders have been all but dismantled. It’s social engineering on a global scale. It isn’t going to work without a host of problems for those masses. Oil and water do not mix, or to put it in more Biblical terms, iron and clay do not mix (Daniel 2).

REBUILDING BABEL

If all this sounds suspiciously like that old Tower of Bable story in Genesis, it’s because it is. The BIble does indeed predict a final form of world government immediately before the return of Jesus Christ. What organizations like the WEF have been working for is a form of world government in which they – the ultimate oligarchy – have supreme control over you; directing the world, overruling your leaders who you don’t really choose in the first place, dismantling that nasty old nationalism, and dispensing with the mean old Judeo-Chrisitan God, who, killjoy that he is, put a stop to the first attempt at world government.

The central target of hardened globalists is the destruction of national sovereignty. I’ve seen this process at work in the European Union. It began as a “Common Market”, ostensibly for trade and financial cooperation. In truth its founders and subsequent leaders intended an eventual political union, in which national sovereignties would melt away in an un-frightening fashion, and where the voice of the individual would become increasingly irrelevant and unheard.

THE EVIDENCE

If you think about it, it all adds up, doesn’t it. The pathetic insistence that the flood of immigrants, mostly from Muslim countries into Europe, could not be stopped and was allowed out of compassion; the promises made in order to get elected that it would be stopped when it wasn’t, all makes sense now. There really was and is an agenda to sink the West, to destroy its history and its sense of national pride; to dilute and dismantle its traditional Christian beliefs and culture, and to transfer its wealth to the oligarchs and other parts of the world. The “climate crisis” is part of the whole charade. Why else would the West voluntarily weaken its industries and economies when nations like China and Russia continue on in the old ways?

SPANNER IN THE WORKS

Trump has put the proverbial spanner/ wrench into the works of world governance, for now. This is why, in my humble opinion, he’s been hounded all the way along. From the start, when he first said the United States needs to close its borders to illegal immigration, they were on him like a gang of kids piling onto one lone boy. Suddenly, the man who had socialized with them and whose success they had admired was now their mortal enemy, and the swamp which he so accurately identified, along with its mouthpiece the mainstream media, were out to stop him by any means whatsoever.

Trump’s remote speech to Davos a few days ago echoed his inauguration speech and subsequent executive orders. He is closing the borders of the United States to illegal immigration, he is cancelling the nonsense called “Green New Deal”, withdrawing from the “ridiculous one-sided Paris Climate Accord”, working to make America prosper, and to instill a sense of national pride and patriotism. This prospering, said Trump, will be good for the whole world.

THE GREAT RESET

Another commentator I like, Eric Stakelbeck, in a video titled, “The Great Reset is Dead? Trump Causes Panic Among Global Elites” said that Trump is “… the antithesis of the Great Reset”. The WEF, said Eric, is “a modern tower of Babel”. He observed that while the WEF, and for that matter socialists in all corners of the world, claim that they will give you freedom of speech, what they mean is freedom of speech so long as it agrees with their ideology. We need to read and think between the lines of what they’re telling us. If the past ten years of Trump hate have taught us anything, it should be that the majority of politicians, the corporate media, and elites in general cannot be trusted at all. They will do or say anything to get their way and have no shame over it.

Is the WEF dead without the compliance of the United States, and without the ability to drain its wealth and change its way of thinking? Eric was not the only one to observe, “It’s like the Empire Strikes Back”: The evil empire isn’t finished, just halted for now by Trump and the American people.

Turley showed a part of Trump’s speech to the WEF in 2020, in which Trump said, “We must reject the prophets of doom”… “They want to see us do badly. “These alarmists always demand the same thing: absolute power to dominate and control every aspect of our lives”.

Trump’s inauguration speech this time around was truly inspiring. What a contrast to the pathetic apologies, lies and excuses of certain other world leaders. On the question of illegal immigration, Trump said, “First I will declare a national emergency at our southern border. “All illegal entry will immediately be halted”.

BY THEIR FRUITS

Trump may or may not be a Bible-believing Christian as we know it, but he’s a vast improvement on our last godless administration. Among his first amazing actions has been the release of twenty-three people from prison who were arrested and given three to five year sentences for obstructing the entrance to an abortion clinic: they were praying where they shouldn’t have been. In addition, as part of his inaugural speech, he said,

“I will also end the government policy of trying to socially engineer race and gender into every aspect of public and private life”. “We will forge a society that is color blind and merit based. As of today, it henceforth will be the official policy of the United States that there are only two genders – male and female”.

IS THE DREAM OF WORLD GOVERNANCE DEAD?

I didn’t ever think the “New World Order” preached by some was really the Biblical world order foretold in Revelation and Daniel. The so-called experts have had and still often have a myopic and over-simplified view of what will be. However, I’m not naive enough to think that Trump’s ascendancy means that Bible prophecy will not be fulfilled. The likes of the Davos crowd will not go away crying and play golf. They will continue with their dreams and plans, knowing that Trump has, at most, only four years in power. Their plans could easily continue apace at that time, depending on who takes over from Trump. Democrats are fully on board with all the ideology which could bring about world government.

Scripture does not, despite popular belief, speak of the obliteration of nations into one global state – instead the nations will remain distinct. However, one over-riding power will emerge. That emergence appears in Scripture to be sudden, and not gradual. Here’s what Revelation tells us:

ā€œThe ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast”. (Revelation 17:12-13).

The beast – the Antichrist and his ten cohort leaders will have authority for “one hour” John tells us. It’s a short time only, and we’re given a more specific amount of time:

The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months (Revelation 13:5).

The final world empire will only have three and a half years to do its dirty work before Jesus Christ, as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, puts an end to it. Scan the relevant passages of Scripture and you will find several that warn of sudden change, not gradual. As an example, consider Ezekiel chapter 38, in which a huge coalition of armies without warning moves to overrun the nation of Israel, following their miraculous return from the nations of the world. Also read what Paul had to say about suddenness in relation to the fulfillment of Bible prophecy:

While people are saying, ā€œPeace and safety,ā€ destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape (1 Thessalonians 5:3).

We don’t know exactly how our political scene will look before the man of sin takes control. Neither do we know how or why he will arise. We can only speculate that the world’s movement towards global governance will be underway to some degree, as it indeed is. It seems to me that we can assume confidently we’re already in the time Daniel predicted to exist near the end of human government. Daniel interpreted Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of an image which represented successive relevant empires which would hold sway, and the final stage of it, chronologically speaking, is represented by the toes:

As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay (Daniel 2:42-43).

How accurately this passage relates to our time!
