WHAT TO BET YOUR LIFE ON

Perhaps a majority of people have submitted their lives and their eternal destinies to the idea that we all evolved from nothing, via some sort of single-celled organism, then a fish, a lemur-like creature, and an ape-like animal which eventually learned to walk on two legs.

MIRACLES

Though believers in this story will insist that there are no such things as miracles, this story is a bona-fide miracle in slow motion: a fantasy so magical that it cannot be replicated, observed, or demonstrated-all requirements of true science. It’s a story of how life “must have” come about, without a Creator, a Designer, a God. It’s a story believed by multitudes because they have been told (aka they have faith) that it’s all been proven beyond question. Multiplied millions have given themselves over to the theology of this particular faith, and so to the thought that we need to get what we can out of this life, in any way we see fit, and in any way we can, before we stop existing.

CHOOSE YOUR FAITH

If you subscribe to macro-evolution as described above, ask yourself what evidence you’ve seen for the story. I don’t mean artists’ impressions and state-of-the-art video reconstructions of how it “must have” happened: I mean real evidence. Have you seen bacteria evolve into some other form of life? I will answer that question: No you haven’t. Have you seen a dog evolve into a creature which is not a dog? No you haven’t. Have you seen a series of actual fossils clearly demonstrating one creature turning into another? No, you haven’t. So why do you believe it happened?

Aren’t you living by faith in what the “experts” have told you? Isn’t that what we call “religion”? Aren’t those experts your priests, feeding you what you should believe and adhere to? Aren’t they demanding your complete compliance with their “scriptures”, in thought, word and deed, so that you can’t get through a degree and get a good job without bowing to their dictates?

THE OPTIONS

We are here, despite what some “enlightened” people think. How did we get here? We either evolved, or were created. That’s the choice for us all. The idea that life evolved somewhere else in the universe and then was sent here is just extended evolution. So since you have seen no evidence for macro-evolution:-one kind of creature turning into another-would it not be wise to at least consider the alternative-that is, that we were created?

ALTERNATIVE EXPERTS

You may or may not know that not all the “experts” are sold over to the story of evolution. Some are solidly in the creation camp, or they are convinced of “intelligent design”. They may have slightly different ideas about who created, or when, or how, but the point is that they have their minds open to the alternative. Many are Bible-believers.

James Tour is a Bible believer. He is also a chemist and nanotechnologist, and is Professor of Chemistry and Professor of Materials Science and Nanoengineering at Rice University in Houston Texas. He received degrees from Syracuse University, (BS) and Purdue University, (PhD) and completed postdoctoral work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Stamford University.

Dr Tour has made a name for himself by challenging the notion that life could come about by natural processes. He’s been in aggressive debate with a crowd of evolutionists, by laying down the gauntlet and asking for hard answers which, he insists, cannot be given. Needless to say they pout, opine, accuse and speculate, but he has then on the run. Did you think that abiogenesis was all proven and known fact? Then you have been successfully duped. You cannot trust your favourite TV science presenter: he’s duped too-willingly so.

GAMBLING ON A STORY

As I’ve tried in my own humble way to demonstrate, experts do not know (though they sometimes call their speculations “knowledge”) how enzymes formed, how photosynthesis came about, how fungi first evolved, or how life came from non-life. These and a multitude of other dynamic processes and fundamental building blocks are all vital and indispensable to life on earth, and yet we as a culture base our entire theology and eternal destiny on the stories which have been created to explain away God. Yes, evolution is a fairy story for those who hate the thought that there might be a creator who requires something of us.

HOW TO WIN AND KEEP WINNING

Blaise Pascal was a French mathematician, physicist, inventor and philosopher. Among his many achievements was his pioneering work on calculator machines. He was a pioneer in the natural and applied sciences. Pascal wrote in defense of the scientific method. He made important contributions to the study of fluids, clarified the concepts of pressure and vacuum, and rebutted the concept that “nature abhors a vacuum”.

Pacal argued that by believing in God-the God of the Bible- and by seeking him, you lose nothing, but have everything, beyond your wildest imaginings, to gain. In contrast, by not seeking God you stand to devalue your life in this world, and ultimately to lose your very soul.

TRIVIAL PURSUITS

It amazes me that so many people in our world spend their time on trivial pursuits, and none on a search for the possibility that there is indeed a creator. My own brother-an agnostic- recently shared a quote from a self-styled philosopher who suggested that we need to relax and think much less about serious things. Yet if you pause just for one moment and consider it, there is nothing else more profound or important in all of life, the universe and everything, as the fact that there may be God, a Master over us all, who requires our attention.

MY EXPERIENCE

On a personal level, I’m convinced that I was created by an incredible God-the God of the Bible. I am also convinced that His only Son Jesus Christ died to pay the price of my fallen nature, so that if I wish, and if I love Him, I can be with Him in paradise for all eternity. What can I lose? I will tell you that in decades of being a Bible believer and a seeker of God, I have lost nothing of value. Instead, I have gained stability and purpose in this life: hope, peace and an inner joy, and the assurance of an eternity with my Creator.
