Have a drink…of water!
As my readers will know, I like to share how completely unproven the theory of evolution is. I also like to consider the uniqueness and the wonders of our creation. Here are some cool facts about water.
Water is made of two very reactive gases, yet is inflammable. Seventy percent of the world is covered in water. It’s essential for all life. It dissolves more substances than any other liquid. It’s able to store enormous amounts of energy compared to other liquids, and the temperature of a large body of water such as a lake is very stable. The boiling point of all other molecules of a similar size is much lower than water. If water boiled at the same temperature as others, we would not be here. It’s “a very special material, held together in a completely different way“*
Unlike other liquids, the density of water decreases upon freezing. This prevents large bodies of water from freezing solid. No other molecular material will float on its own melt. The water vapor in our atmosphere protects us from radiation from the sun. Why is it, given that the sun is so near to us, that we have any water at all? Why doesn’t it all boil away? Here’s the answer an evolutionist gave to this question:
“Normally the sun would split water into hydrogen and oxygen, as would happen on planets with no atmosphere. We’re fortunate that through a combination of luck and life we have an atmosphere which contains a whole series of molecules to filter out the most harmful rays. And that in a sense protects the water from being essentially destroyed”*.
In this regard, here’s one of the things the ancient Bible says about water:
But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water (2 Peter 3:5 NIV).
