Vive la différence, I say. Without it we wouldn’t be here, and without it we are making nonsense of the whole concept of women’s rights…
At college, back in the stone age, I was taught to distinguish between feminine writing and masculine writing styles-probably one of those abilities lost to revisionism by now. There is a difference, like it or not. This morning, while listening to a beautiful piece of piano music by Handel on NPR*, I was leaning heavily towards the impression that the pianist was a woman, and upon being given the info, I learned that it was. Not that there is any less talent in a woman pianist than in a male pianist, but the difference is there and cannot be hidden for long, as much as NPR would probably like it to be. The piece was written by a man, probably for a man’s large hands, for a man’s testosterone-driven aggression, and a man’s way of thinking.
I don’t need to look up research results to see some of the differences between the two natural sexes. Men are generally bigger, physically stronger, more aggressive, more goal driven. Women are more particular, more socially-minded, more in touch with their feelings and those of others. Men and women have different skeletal forms, different hormones, different organs, different skin, fat and hair growth patterns, and different DNA arrangements. Women generally live longer. And…(here it comes) women can have babies and men cannot. This fact and all the others I’ve mentioned is being hotly denied in certain circles these days: a sign of just how far our society has decayed into foolishness. They want us all to think the same way as they do: I will not.
Once again, our Bible continues to be the guide for all those interested in reality, sobriety, and natural beauty, because, as Jesus Christ himself said,
“Haven’t you read,”…“that at the beginning the Creator made them male and female, and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? (Matthew 19:4-5).
Male-female distinction; God; Creation; from the beginning; natural family units; marriage… all in one verse! These are all things being denied in our rotting culture, to our individual and collective harm.
