Politics: The End Game

Are our politicians and their media simply confused, mistaken, self-serving and corrupt, or is there something deeper going on? Is there an end game we should know about?

I was watching one of my favourite commentators on YouTube: a Scotts historian called Neil Oliver. He has an excellent handle on the state of our corrupt political world, and his commentaries, decorated with inventive, witty and poignant satire, always hit the nail right on the head for me. He has our politicians and our governments framed brilliantly, and is very knowledgable of the facts. Unfortunately he has no understanding of the ultimate causes, consequences or outcome of all that he observes.

He isn’t the only one. There are many millions like him, who see the problems, but who have no idea how we can go from here to a truly free society. Neither have they any idea how to cope mentally or emotionally with those problems.

In his most recent discussion* Neil, after several minutes and several sharp observations which included remarks on the arrest of Donald Trump, stated that he’s at a loss as to what “the end game” might be of our corrupt governments, and of the ultra-wealthy people who now drive them and direct them towards a cenralized world.

Listening to him this time, I couldn’t help thinking of Dante’s “Inferno”, in which politicians are seen in almost the lowest level of hell. Even five hundred years ago, cogent observers had a dim view of politicians.

Tucker Carlson, in his recent videos on Twitter which have attracted literally hundreds of millions of views already, has, I think, a little more understanding of where we seem to be going as a once “free” world, but I suspect he’s not onboard with God’s prognositcation-professing (and lovely) Christian that he is. I recommend his talks to those of you who are also confused as to the direction of our world and who want to be more informed, but I recommend more highly the words of Scripture-that is-the Bible.

Scripture alerts us to the end game of our so-called leaders, so that we can have a good idea of why things are the way they are in the world. It also gives us the cure, for our time and in the times to come. Therein is our future, our one true Hope over societal and personal troubles, and the ultimate solution to all that we see happening in our world.

I wish I could recommend a prophecy teacher to you. Unfortunately, all those I know of are flawed in their predictions, and some are simply being sensational to get attention and not have to go and get a proper job. I here offer a very brief summary of what I see as the links between our current political direction, and our future and destiny as foretold in Scripture, without wild speculations or forced associations. Here I mention what the Bible describes as the state of the world in the lead-up to the end of our present age. But first a disclaimer.

DISCLAIMER

These things appear to be in process now, but yes, I could be wrong. Alternatively they may continue in process for some time-that is-for decades. We may even experience a return to more sane days for who knows how long. I don’t personally think so, because these things are converging in an amazing way.

Most politicians and elites probably don’t recognize or imagine that they are working to fulfill Scripture. However, their end-game is inseparably linked with what God has already warned will happen.

THE END GAME

1 A world of separate nations but controlled by one central power and one supreme leader, rather like an extreme version of the European Union. The centralization of power is in process now, in every nation and in every region.

2 The regathering of the Jews to their ancient homeland. I’ve written posts on this.

3 A hatred of Jews world-wide and their continued persecution. The division of Jerusalem.

4 The trashing of truth in every sphere of life-particularly in politics and religion (sound familiar?).

5 An ultimate and all-encompassing lie. Could this be the story of evolution, or is it the appearance of that one supreme political leader?

6 Rejection of the Biblical God and ultimately the persecution of those who follow Him. Half of the Church has fallen to the lie that it’s our job to bring on world-wide revival. The truth is the complete opposite: Scripture foretells a falling away from the truths of God.

7 A centralized (world) control of economy and currency, and of the power to buy or sell. The potential is already here, with digital technology and the will to spy on and control all our dealings.

8 Gross immorality and evil. Violence, sexual perversion and idolatry. The triumph of selfishness.

9 An obsession with occult and pagan beliefs.

THE ANSWER

The most immediate and the ultimate answer to all the problems we see in our world today is Jesus Christ. Ask him into your life. Tell him you are sorry that you have lived your life in willing ignorance of him and in opposition to His ways. Then live for him, and accept the Bible as your guide to all of life and eternity. Do not join a cult-even one claiming to be Christian or claiming to be the true church while all others are false. Yes, join a Bible-believing church, but Christ is all you need, and the only one you should fully trust.
