In 1927 Georges LemaƮtre, a Belgian physicist (and incidentally, a Catholic priest) declared from his own studies that space is expanding spherically. He also surmised that one logical conclusion from this fact was that there had to be a starting point for the expansion, which he called the "primeval atom"
Another evolutionist joined the conversation, eager to prevent Melvyn from using that nasty āintelligenceā concept again: āThis is one thing that weāre always very careful of when weāre talking in the public sphere, because this idea of intelligence is very seductiveā.
Did the universe have a beginning, or is it eternal? For centuries most philosophers thought the latter...
Was it a run, a jog, a sprint? I didnāt know or care: I felt like I could run around the earth and enjoy every step of it.
Regarding the assertion that the work of the Intelligent Design movement is "pseudo-science", it's interesting if not comical to note that some evolutionists are believing that life originated from somewhere else in the galaxy, and then "designed" life to begin and thrive here on earth.
