I was reading this morning about a knife attack in Ireland in which the alleged perpetrator was yelling that now well-known phrase which claims that a certain god is great - so great it seems, that he wants to take the world by violence if necessary. Thankfully the police officer being attacked had a companion who managed to subdue the man.
Despite all the years of rhetoric, lies and hatred against Donald Trump, he's been elected in a landslide victory. Can we live at peace now? Can we prosper? Can we move on and make the best of our world? Unfortunately, the record of human nature, the character of his enemies and of the word of God all give a very negative answer to these questions.
A taxpayer funded news outlet should be neutral. Even if reporters, presenters and administrators love the policies of the Democratic party, the information they broadcast should be without political bias.
How should we feel about the political state of our nation and our world? Anyone who has their eyes open can't fail to feel trepidation, disgust and frustration when looking at what our so-called "leaders", and our potential leaders, say and get up to. But perhaps there's another way of looking at things...
What is "far-right" about "Lord of the Rings", except in the rabid, seething hatred of an alleged news reporter? I'll tell you: it's dualism. It's the conviction that there are such things as absolute good and absolute evil; that the two are in complete opposition, and that the good can and will ultimately prevail.
