People who regard themselves as Christians yet pay little or no attention to the Bible are getting their direction in life from somewhere else. It's coming from their church's doctrine and tradition, and from priests; It's coming from what their pastor tells them in his own "inspired" sermons, or from what other Christians tell them, or worst of all, it's coming from their own idea of what's right or wrong.
People often use the words "knowledge" and "wisdom" without distinguishing between them. While the two are closely related, they don't have quite the same meaning. According to the Cambridge Dictionary wisdom is"... the ability to use your knowledge and experience to make good decisions and judgments". This is perhaps a definition of human wisdom at its best. You can have all the knowledge in the world but without wisdom you're prone to making mistakes.
It's common to hear people complain that the Bible has been changed many times over the years, so that it's unreliable. This is the way many people attempt to dismiss all that Scripture tells us, and sometimes to shut us up. The temptation for the undetermined believer is to then be silenced, or to abandon the testimony of Scripture and go it alone.
Many times in recent decades and over the past two hundred years, archaeological finds have confounded skeptics and unbelievers, and given evidence in support of the Bible. One such find is the "Moabite Stone", aka "The Mesha Stele". I'm here summarizing the description of this stele and how it came to light, as told in two video documentaries noted below.
