Paul, in addressing a false teaching going around in his day which claimed that the Day of the Lord had already come and gone, speaks of two things which will unmistakably precede and mark the commencement of the real Day of the Lord. Then, while expounding on these two signs, he says that some will believe "the lie". What is the nature of this future untruth?
