Kingdom Now or Winepress
Some Christians and theologians think that one of the only sins left to commit is to look forward to the coming of Jesus Christ. If you commit this one you're "sticking your head in the clouds"; you're "too heavenly minded"; you're "ignoring Christ's commission" and you just aren't living as a Christian should live. My first erudite, thoughtful and carefully considered response to such accusations is "Poppycock!" More precisely, it's unbiblical poppycock.
Fake Spirituality
One of the many warnings Jesus gave when speaking of the scourge of deception was against the present-day cult of the Holy Spirit. To those who would accuse me of "blaspheming the Holy Spirit", or of "not believing in the Holy Spirit" I say that I have no intention of blaspheming the beautiful and holy Spirit of God or of disbelieving. He is with me now, as he is with all true believers in the one and only son of God. My intention is to drive us all to focus on our real object of worship.
Knowledge and Wisdom
People often use the words "knowledge" and "wisdom" without distinguishing between them. While the two are closely related, they don't have quite the same meaning. According to the Cambridge Dictionary wisdom is"... the ability to use your knowledge and experience to make good decisions and judgments". This is perhaps a definition of human wisdom at its best. You can have all the knowledge in the world but without wisdom you're prone to making mistakes.
Another Spirit
Within the spectrum of expression in the Christian Church the Charismatic movement provides many great and commendable blessings. It appeals to those whose character traits and preferences demand freedom and vitality. However, at and near its fringe there's something dark and destructive at work.
